Text: Genesis 12:1 – 17:27

11″ x 14″

Parashat (Torah portion) Lech L’cha is the third portion in the Torah. The opening words of “Lech L’cha” mean “Go yourself,” God’s instruction to Avram (who would later be renamed Avraham/Abraham) to leave the land of his birth and his father’s house, to go where God will show him. God promises Avram that he will be blessed, that his name will be made great; God will bless those who bless him and curse those who curse him. Avram leaves, taking his wife, Sarai (later to be renamed Sarah), and his nephew, Lot, with him. They are heading to the west, toward the land of Canaan, over the mountains lit up in the image by the setting sun.

This piece can be personalized with an inscription of the name and date of a Bar or Bat Mitzvah! Be sure to include the spelling of the Hebrew name if possible (to type in Hebrew: http://www.branah.com/hebrew ).
