Yael was an unlikely heroine, but a bad-ass nonetheless. D’vora foretold a prophesy that Sisera, the leader of the enemy army, would be defeated by a woman; the leader of the Israelite army of course scoffed at such a suggestion. And yet, after the battle, Sisera runs away and finds the tent of a Kenite to rest in. The Kenite’s wife, Yael, was the only one home. Sisera asked for water, but she offered him milk; once he fell asleep, she picked up a tent peg and drove it through his head, officially winning the war for the Israelites.
